My activity in the church began on May 14, 1995, the day I accepted the salvation provided by faith alone in Jesus Christ.  As a child, I went to church off and on, mostly off.  My parents used to go to church regularly but then just suddenly stopped; I was too young to understand or ask any questions as to why we stopped attending.  At my young age, I didn’t know what it was like to have a relationship with Jesus – let alone know that He was willing to save my life.  Little did I know that I would have to wait until high school to find out the truth of Jesus.

All throughout middle and the beginning of high school, I was a poor student and succumbed to many of the pressures associated with a crowd that you continuously try to avoid.  I began to involve myself with a crowd of individuals which resulted in poor judgment and even worse behavior.  Starting toward the end of middle school, I started drinking heavily – to the point of an alcoholic.  I was only 14 or 15 years old at the time!  Reaching high school in the shape I was currently in didn’t help my situation.  I continued to drink in excess now with even more pressures of high school students.  I was trying to fit in with the “cool kids” so I continued to drink but it didn’t stop there.  I was introduced to marijuana in high school as well.  Now, not only drinking heavily, I was also smoking marijuana.  My life was a wreck and on the verge of being lost – literally.  My life was about to change.

On a day where I wasn’t drunk or under the influence of drugs, I met Hilary.  She would later become my girlfriend of over five years.  Hilary and her family were members of a great church, North Phoenix Baptist Church West, located in Phoenix, Arizona.  I was invited many, many times before I finally albeit reluctantly, accepted her invitation.  I had no idea what I was missing!  The power of the Holy Spirit filled the sanctuary and planted a seed in my heart that would end up taking root…eventually.  I continued to attend church with Hilary and her family and on May 14, 1995, I got on my knees, knowing that my way wasn’t the right way, I prayed.  I asked God for His forgiveness of my sins, realizing that the only way to eternal life was through faith alone in Him, I accepted His offer and asked Jesus to come into my life.

After high school, I joined the Air Force and received orders to Fairchild AFB in Spokane, Washington.  I found many local churches in the Spokane area but in the end, I decided that the chapel on base would be where I would call my church family.  A great thing happened to me while I was in Spokane; I met the beautiful former Amanda Bonstrom who would, on July 15, 2000, become my wife.  Shortly after our marriage, we received orders Royal Air Force Lakenheath, England.  Shortly after our arrival, I began attending and would subsequently become a member of New Testament Baptist Church in Mildenhall, England.  Amanda unfortunately could not attend with me due to her work schedule despite repeated requests for a change.  While in England, around 2000, I felt a tugging on my heart to ministry.  It wasn’t until 2004 that I finally answered God’s call, after much prayer and guidance, to the ministry.  I began coursework at Moody Bible Institute which continues today on a full-time basis, with hopes that I will someday be given the privilege and honor of serving our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, as pastor.

I, no doubt, have been met with many road blocks on my journey to ministry.  Not many churches or organizations want to employ someone that will undoubtedly move eventually due to military obligations.  So, with those road blocks, I decided that until I am able to become involved in a church in the capacity I feel God calling me to do, I will start my own ministry that will be able to follow me when I have to move.  In July 2005, I created Jeremy Meier Ministries.  This ministry is self-funded and serves as a source to preach the Gospel to people throughout the world and also offers free Bibles, Bible studies, sermons, prayer requests, and more.  Jeremy Meier Ministries continues to have, thanks be to God, 1000+ website hits a month and over 150 Bibles shipped.  Although people don’t always send their information when they received Jesus as their Savior, we have been able to confirm 327 lives changed as a result of this online ministry.  I have complete faith in God to provide, in His timing, a place that I will eventually be able to call home.  I love Jesus Christ and love leading people to Him and nurturing those who already have, or long to have a relationship with Him.
